It’s time for our first update of the new year and thanks to the over 300 donors who contributed to our year end appeal we’re off to a strong start!
As we’ve been sharing over the past few months we’re hoping to be able to say “yes” to more seals in need of care this year. The need for rehabilitation space in the Northeast continues to outpace the available space, though we’re actively working to reduce this gap even more this year. We’re also participating in collaborative research projects to better understand the stressors marine mammals in our region are facing in addition to continuing to respond to calls to our hotline throughout the winter. All of these efforts help to support our larger vision of thriving marine mammal populations in the Gulf of Maine and beyond.
Our community of volunteers, donors and supporters from near and far is what makes this possible- thank you for being a member of our community. Read on below for more information on what we’re up to this winter!
